Have you dreamed of seeing a glacier live? Cloud Peak Wilderness was designated by Congress in 1984. It runs along the spine of the Bighorn mountains and this is where you can see the last remaining glacier in the Bighorn mountains. Truly spectacular, this wilderness has hundreds of pristine lakes and streams. The water is so fresh and clear, in part because there is snow here until July.
Hiking in the Clear Peak Wilderness Area is perhaps the easiest way to see a glacier since you don’t have to leave the lower 48 and while the Bighorns look rough and rugged, there are plenty of easy hikes for the novices in your group.
